from Fr Satheesh
My Dear Parishioners,
In this week’s Gospel, Jesus speaks words that are repeated several times: “Do not be afraid.” He knows that following him will not always be easy. There will be times when his disciples feel uncertain, worried, or challenged by the opinions and actions of others. Yet Jesus reminds them, and us, that God’s love is stronger than fear.
Jesus uses the image of the sparrows to show how deeply God cares for all creation. If not, even a tiny sparrow is forgotten by God, then how much more precious are we in His eyes? Jesus says that even the hairs on our heads are counted, a beautiful reminder that God knows us completely, cares about every detail of our lives, and never abandons us.
This Gospel also calls us to live our faith with courage. Jesus encourages his followers not to keep God’s love hidden but to share it openly through the way they speak, act, and care for others. Being a witness to Christ does not always mean grand gestures; often it means showing kindness, choosing hope, standing up for what is right, and trusting God in everyday moments.
When fear or uncertainty enters our hearts, Jesus’ words invite us to remember that we belong to God. We do not walk alone. God knows us, values us, and walks beside us through every joy and challenge.
May we hear Jesus’ words today, “Do not be afraid”, and find confidence in God’s loving care as we continue to follow Him.
We warmly congratulate the 140 children who celebrated their First Holy Communion this weekend. We continue to keep them and their families in our prayers as they grow in faith and continue their journey with Christ. My gratitude Susanne Bragge, our wonderful Sacramental Coordinator for preparing these children along with their parents and teachers.
We also look forward to our Biggest Morning Tea this coming Wednesday 24th June. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the seniors of our parish to gather together in friendship, fellowship, and enjoyment.
We warmly invite you to join us for this special event and ask that you please RSVP using the clipboards available at the back of the church.
Please keep Archbishop Anthony Randazzo in our prayers as he leaves our diocese and going to Rome to begin his new chapter of his mission as the Prefect of the Dicastery for Legislative Texts. WE wish him every blessing.
Please take your planned giving envelops from the foyer of the church. Thank you all for your generous support with the various ministries of our Parish.
May God bless you.
