My Dear Parishioners, This week we celebrate the feast of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi). It is a celebration of the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The feast invites us to give thanks for the great gift of the Eucharist, in which Catholics believe that Jesus is truly present, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, under the appearances of bread and wine. It is a special opportunity to reflect on the importance of the Holy Mass and Holy Communion in our lives. In today’s Gospel, Jesus describes himself as the “living bread come down from heaven.” His words were difficult for many people to understand, just as they can challenge us today. Yet Jesus is teaching us something profound: he wants to share his very life with us. Whenever we gather around the altar and receive the Eucharist, we are not simply remembering Jesus; we are entering into a living relationship with him.
