Dear Parishioners, The readings of this weekend explain Who the Holy Spirit is, what His roles are, and how we can experience Him in our daily lives. In the Gospel, Jesus reassures his disciples that they will not be left alone. Even as he prepares to leave them, he promises the gift of the Advocate, the Spirit of truth, who will remain with them always. This is a powerful reminder that God’s presence is not distant or temporary, but alive within us. Jesus connects love with action: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Love is not just a feeling, but something we live out in the way we treat others, in our choices, and in our faithfulness each day. Through this love, we come to know God more deeply, not as someone far away, but as one who dwells within us. In moments when we feel uncertain or alone, this Gospel invites us to trust that we are never abandoned. The Spirit is with us, guiding, strengthening, and reminding us that we belong to God. It also challenges us to be a...

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Image
All-loving God, we give you thanks and praise for mothers young and old. We pray for young mothers, who give life and count toes and tend to our every need; May they be blessed with patience and tenderness to care for their families and themselves with great joy. We pray for our own mothers who have nurtured and cared for us; May they continue to guide us in strong and gentle ways. We remember mothers who are separated from their children because of war, poverty, or conflict; May they feel the loving embrace of our God who wipes every tear away. We pray for women who are not mothers but still love and shape us with motherly care and compassion. We remember mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen.

Intimate Resonance - Brahms & Faure Piano Quartets The Linden Trio with guest pianist Jeanell Carrigan Wyvern Music Forestville presents Intimate Resonance, with The Linden Trio and distinguished pianist Dr. Jeanell Carrigan A.M., performing the monumental Brahms and Faure Piano Quartets. Fauré’s Piano Quartet in C minor opens the concert with its compelling blend of elegance, urgency, and luminous harmonic colour. Brahms’ expansive Piano Quartet in A major, Op. 26 follows, a generous and deeply heartfelt work whose sweeping melodies and rich textures reveal the composer at his most noble and expressive. Together, these two works offer a rare opportunity to experience the piano quartet at its most intimate and resonant, performed by musicians celebrated for their insight, sensitivity, and blended ensemble sound. The Linden Trio of Marina Marsden (violin), Justine Marsden (viola) and Timothy Nankervis (cello), are all highly-regarded members of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Jea...
