from Fr Satheesh

Dear Parishioners,

The readings of this weekend explain Who the Holy Spirit is, what His roles are, and how we can experience Him in our daily lives.

In the Gospel, Jesus reassures his disciples that they will not be left alone. Even as he prepares to leave them, he promises the gift of the Advocate, the Spirit of truth, who will remain with them always. This is a powerful reminder that God’s presence is not distant or temporary, but alive within us.

Jesus connects love with action: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Love is not just a feeling, but something we live out in the way we treat others, in our choices, and in our faithfulness each day. Through this love, we come to know God more deeply, not as someone far away, but as one who dwells within us.

In moments when we feel uncertain or alone, this Gospel invites us to trust that we are never abandoned. The Spirit is with us, guiding, strengthening, and reminding us that we belong to God. It also challenges us to be attentive to that Spirit, to listen in prayer and in the quiet of our hearts. When we do, we become signs of God’s love and presence for others in our world.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend, we thank God for all mothers and mother figures, for their love, care, and the many ways they nurture and support others each day. We are deeply grateful for all who give so generously in this special role. We pray for all our mothers and especially remember those mothers who are not with us today.

Thank you to those who were able to attend Fr. Tan’s thanksgiving mass last Sunday and also for the Vigil liturgy for Fr. David Taylor. We ask for your prayers for our parish children as they prepare for their First Holy Communion. It is a joy to welcome them and their families to our Sunday celebrations! We love and care our children. Safeguarding the children and the vulnerable are our priority.

May is the month of our Pastoral Works Appeal. We begin our PWWB Appeal this weekend. I invite you to consider giving what you can to help us reach our parish target. Thank you, as always, for your generous support.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.

God Bless you all.
