Dear Parishioners, The story of the rich man and Lazarus speaks to the silence of our hearts. It reminds us that what matters most in God’s eyes is not what we hold, but how we give; not what we own, but how we love. The rich man’s tragedy was not his wealth, but his blindness his inability to see Lazarus at his very gate, wanting mercy, longing to be noticed. How often do we, too, walk past the Lazarus who waits for us? Perhaps it is the lonely, the overlooked, the struggling soul beside us. The chasm that separated the rich man from Lazarus after death was first carved in life by indifference, by closed eyes, by a heart that would not open. The parable invites us to pause and to see. To ask for eyes that recognize the suffering around us. To ask for hearts that are moved with compassion. Lord, help us to see the Lazarus at our gate, and...

OUR PILGRIMS

Image
Our pilgrims are enjoying a blessed time away. Here they are walking to the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica, a sacred step in their spiritual journey. We continue to keep them in our prayers and wish them a safe journey home. May God bless them, fill their hearts with love and peace, and keep them safe always.

Social Justice News - A Big Thank You

Image
HUGE Congratulations on the wonderful celebration of God  in all of life last Saturday at the inaugural Parish Festival of Creation. A BIG THANK YOU for the gifts and talents of the Laudato Si' Planning Team: Alison and Beth (the two school RECs), Susanne Bragge, Brian Norman, Carmel Smith and Anne Lanyon. Thank you to all the musicians, the readers and Fr Boby for the beautiful Mass of Creation. Thank you to the simply wonderful community spirit of collaboration and co-operation which enabled the participation in, learning and enjoyment of the many activities. We have so much to be grateful for, particularly for St Martins REC, Beth, who helped with all the planning and then was not present on the day because of the safe early delivery of baby Charlie. What a spring blessing! It was great to collaborate across the parish as the FOREST PARISH!
