Dear Parishioners, This week the Gospel from Luke reminds us that faithfulness begins in the small, ordinary choices of daily life. Jesus teaches that how we handle little thing, our honesty, integrity, and stewardship, reveals the condition of our hearts and our readiness to receive greater responsibilities from God. True wealth lies not in possessions but in the spiritual treasures God offers: grace, peace, and eternal life. The challenge Jesus places before us is clear. To follow Christ fully means putting Him above material security, trusting that when we seek His kingdom first, all else will fall into place. This Gospel invites us to examine whether our choice, big and small, show that we are serving God with undivided hearts. At this time, we hold in our thoughts and prayers all those from our parish who are travelling on pilgrimage to Rome and Paris for the Jubilee Year. Reflections as we Journey Through Jubilee Year 2025

Key Themes of the Jubilee Year Forgive Debts & Give pardons Heartfelt appeal to affluent nations asking them to ‘acknowledge the gravity of so many of past decisions and determine to forgive debts of countries that will never be able to repay them.’ This includes the ecological debt as addressed in Laudato Si and the pardon of prisoners. Peace for a Suffering World Call for a year of hope and patience in the face of much suffering in the world encouraging diplomacy to end war and a ‘global fund’ to put an end to hunger, rather than financing weapons. Pilgrimage Hope that pilgrims will plan a pilgrimage to a shrine of spiritualty. Hope for the Future In concern for declining birth rates, stating reasons as frenetic pace of life, fears about the future, lack of job security and adequate social policies.
