This week the Gospel from Luke reminds us that faithfulness begins in the small, ordinary choices of daily life. Jesus teaches that how we handle little thing, our honesty, integrity, and stewardship, reveals the condition of our hearts and our readiness to receive greater responsibilities from God. True wealth lies not in possessions but in the spiritual treasures God offers: grace, peace, and eternal life.
The challenge Jesus places before us is clear. To follow Christ fully means putting Him above material security, trusting that when we seek His kingdom first, all else will fall into place. This Gospel invites us to examine whether our choice, big and small, show that we are serving God with undivided hearts.
At this time, we hold in our thoughts and prayers all those from our parish who are travelling on pilgrimage to Rome and Paris for the Jubilee Year. As they carry with them our prayers and petitions, we pray that their journey may be blessed with grace and renewal. We look forward with joy to welcoming them home and hearing the stories of their pilgrimage.
We welcome a new cohort of families with children about to start their sacramental journey. We had a wonderful parent evening last week for over 100 parents attending to start the program. We look forward to working with parents to prepare their children for Confirmation on 8th November.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all the Year 12 students of our parish who are graduating from school this week. We give thanks for their hard work, dedication, and the support of their families and teachers throughout these years. As they step forward into the future, may the Holy Spirit guide their choices, bless their endeavours, and fill them with courage, wisdom, and faith. Let us keep them in our prayers, asking God to watch over them in the exciting journeys that lie ahead.”
