from The Parish Team

Dear Parishioners,

The story of the rich man and Lazarus speaks to the silence of our hearts. It reminds us that what matters most in God’s eyes is not what we hold, but how we give; not what we own, but how we love. The rich man’s tragedy was not his wealth, but his blindness his inability to see Lazarus at his very gate, wanting mercy, longing to be noticed.

How often do we, too, walk past the Lazarus who waits for us? Perhaps it is the lonely, the overlooked, the struggling soul beside us. The chasm that separated the rich man from Lazarus after death was first carved in life by indifference, by closed eyes, by a heart that would not open.

The parable invites us to pause and to see. To ask for eyes that recognize the suffering around us. To ask for hearts that are moved with compassion. To ask for courage to cross the small chasms of daily neglect, so that no great gulf will ever separate us from the love of God and from one another.

Lord, help us to see the Lazarus at our gate, and in seeing, to love.

This week we begin 10 Days of the Rosary, and everyone is warmly invited to take part in this special devotion. From Wednesday, 1st October, through to Friday, 10th October, we will gather each evening at 7:00 pm in OLGC Church to pray the Rosary together. We would love for you to join us in prayer during these days of reflection and grace.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all who helped organise and those who attended the Festival of Creation at Terrey Hills last weekend. It was a joyful occasion, blessed with beautiful weather, meaningful experiences, and a wonderful sense of community. Truly, it was a fitting way to celebrate the Season of Creation.

We love sharing in the joyful milestones of our parish community. If you have a special occasion coming up that you would like acknowledged in the bulletin, please let us know, we would be delighted to celebrate with you.

Wishing you a joyful and peaceful week ahead. If you're new to our parish or just visiting, please don’t hesitate to come up and say hello, we'd love to welcome you!
