My Dear Parishioners, The Gospel passage on the 14th Sunday in Ordinary time captures a moment of profound commissioning. Jesus sends out seventy-two disciples, not just the twelve, reminding us that the mission of spreading God’s love is not reserved for a select few, but for all who follow Him. The passage shows the vulnerability of discipleship, yet also to the courage and faith required to carry peace into a world that may not always welcome it. Jesus instructs them to travel light, no purse, no sandals, no distractions. This radical dependence on God’s provision is a call to simplicity and trust. It challenges us to let go of our need for control and to rely on the hospitality and grace of others. Peace, in this reading context, is not just the absence of conflict but the presence of God’s wholeness and blessing. And if it’s not received, it returns to the giver. What a beautiful reminder that our efforts to share peace are never wasted. Finally, the disciples are told to heal the...

Thank you from Vinnies

Image
On behalf of the Forestville and Davidson Conference of Vinnies, we would like to thank the parishioners of Frenchs Forest for their generous contributions to the Vinnies Winter Appeal. The total amount we collected were $10060 and $ 6200 respectively. The parishioners certainly heeded the cry of the needy, especially those impacted by the recent floods in NSW, as well as those in the local area who are doing it tough. This support is greatly appreciated, and enables us to do our work supporting those in need. We thank Fr. Satheesh and his Parish team for their continuous support. John Heike ( President, Forestville) Judy Kelly ( President, Davidson).
