from Fr Satheesh

My Dear Parishioners,

This week we celebrate Trinity Sunday. Trinity Sunday is a Christian feast day that celebrates the belief that God exists as three persons in one: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. It is observed on the first Sunday after Pentecost.

In this Gospel passage, Jesus reveals the heart of God’s love. God does not look at the world with anger or rejection, but with deep compassion. He loves humanity so much that He gives His only Son so that no one will be lost. This reminds us that salvation is a gift freely offered to everyone. Eternal life is not earned by perfection but received through faith in Jesus Christ.

The words “God sent his Son into the world not to condemn the world, but so that through him the world might be saved” are especially comforting. Many people fear judgment and feel unworthy of God’s love. Yet Jesus comes not to destroy, but to heal, forgive, and bring hope. He invites us to trust in Him and to walk in the light of faith.

At the same time, the Gospel challenges us to respond personally. Belief is more than simply knowing about Jesus; it means placing our lives in His hands and allowing His love to transform us. Refusing to believe closes the heart to the gift God offers.

This passage encourages us to reflect on how deeply we are loved by God. It also calls us to share that love with others through kindness, mercy, and compassion. When we truly believe in Christ, our lives become signs of hope for the world around us.

Thank you for your continued support of the Diocesan Pastoral Works Appeal. We are deeply grateful for every donation you make to this worthy cause and for the generosity that helps support the important work of our Diocese.

Thank you to everyone who attended the 40th Anniversary Celebration of our Diocese and the farewell supper for Archbishop Anthony Randazzo on Thursday evening. It was a joyful occasion, bringing together the clergy and many faithful members from across the Diocese to celebrate this significant milestone and to give thanks for Archbishop Anthony’s ministry among us.

We continue to keep in our prayers the children and families preparing to receive their First Holy Communion. We warmly welcome them to our parish community and to our Masses as they grow in their understanding of the Eucharist and its importance in our faith and daily lives. The children will celebrate their First Holy Communion on Saturday, 20 June.

We are pleased to announce the formation of a Seniors Ministry in our parish. This initiative aims to bring together our senior parishioners in a spirit of friendship, support, and connection. It will provide opportunities to listen, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships within our parish community. Our inaugural gathering will be held on Wednesday, 24 June, at 11:00 am in the OLGC Parish Centre, with a special morning tea. Please save the date. Further details will be provided in future bulletins.

Please do not hesitate to contact our priests or parish staff if we can assist you in any way.

Wishing you a blessed week ahead.
God bless,
Fr Satheesh Antony OSH PP
