from Fr Satheesh
Dear Parishioners,
As we listen to this week’s Gospel, ten lepers cry out to Jesus for mercy, and all are healed. Yet only one, a Samaritan, returns to give thanks. His gratitude becomes the doorway to a deeper encounter with Jesus, who tells him, “Your faith has saved you.”
This passage reminds us that gratitude is not just good manners, it is an act of faith. The Samaritan recognises that his healing is not only physical but spiritual, and that it comes from the loving hand of God. The other nine received the same miracle, but missed the greater gift: a relationship with Jesus born out of thankfulness.
As we go about our daily lives, may we, too, be like the one who returned, aware of God’s goodness, grateful for His mercy, and eager to give thanks in word and deed.
It reminds us that genuine faith is demonstrated not only in seeking God's help but also in the humble, heartfelt act of thanksgiving.
Thank you to those parishioners who have joined us for the Rosary during the past week. It has been a wonderful prayerful time, connecting with Mary and sharing out faith together. Thank you to all those brought a plate to share after the concluding celebration of the Rosary. As we know traditionally the month of October is devoted to Mary, let us walk with her and continue to recite the Rosary privately because it’s a powerful weapon against evil and it inspires us to meditate on the mysteries of the lives of Jesus and Mary.
My gratitude to all those who have joined the Parish’s one day pilgrimage to the shrines of Chatswood and Manly parishes. I am grateful to Susanne Bragge and Leonie Puckeridge for organising this pilgrimage.
There are many things happening in our Parish this month. Please join the Music Concert, the Timeless sacred Music at OLGC on Saturday 18 October at 6.45 to 8.30 pm.
In this Jubilee Year of Hope our parish is conducting an annual Retreat on Wednesday 29 to 31 Friday October, 2025 from 6 pm to 8.15 pm at St. Martin’s Church, Davidson. Please invite your families and friends to join the Retreat. Kindly make use of this opportunity for our spiritual growth at this busy time. More details are in the bulletin.
Wishing you a joyful and peaceful week ahead. If you're new to our parish or just visiting, please don’t hesitate to come up and say hello — we'd love to welcome you!
May God bless you all.
