from fr Satheesh
Dear Parishioners,
As we celebrate the Third Sunday of Easter we reflect upon the gospel which see the disciples walking on the road to Emmaus. The road to Emmaus is a journey many of us know well, a path marked by disappointment, confusion, and lost hope. The disciples walk away from Jerusalem carrying the weight of what they thought was the end. Yet, in the midst of their sorrow, Jesus comes alongside them, even though they do not recognise him.
So often, we too fail to see Christ walking with us in our struggles. Yet he is there, in our conversations, in the quiet moments, in the Scriptures that speak to our hearts. Like the disciples, our hearts can begin to “burn within us” when we allow his word to touch our lives.
It is in the simple act of the breaking of the bread that their eyes are opened. This reminds us that we encounter the risen Christ most deeply in the Eucharist, where he reveals himself and nourishes us.
Transformed by this encounter, the disciples do not remain where they are. They rise and return with joy to share the Good News. This Gospel invites us to recognise Christ present in our lives and to become witnesses of his hope and resurrection for others.
We look forward to our upcoming Parish celebration. Our OLGC Feast Day will be celebrated on Sunday, 26 April. All are warmly invited to the 10am Mass, followed by food and fellowship & games. Please RSVP by scanning the QR code in the bulletin or by adding your name to the lists at the back of the churches. Sausages will be available for everyone to enjoy, and there will also be an Indian food stall where you can purchase delicious food while helping raise funds for simple upgrades to the Parish Centre.

Information about the upcoming Ordinations to the Priesthood are also in the bulletin. Please RSVP if you are intending to attend. Fr. Tan will celebrate his thanksgiving Mass here at OLGC on Sunday 3 May at 10 am. As you know Frenchs Forest is his home parish. Hence, I encourage everyone to attend that Mass and thank God for the gift of his Ordination to the priesthood.
We also look forward to welcoming parents and children to our First Eucharist Program. The Parent Information Evening will be held on Wednesday, 29 April at 7pm.
Once again, thanks to Fr. Biju for his pastoral care in our parish and wish him all our best as he steps into the new chapter of his life.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. God Bless you all.
Fr Satheesh Antony OSH, PP
