from Fr Satheesh

Dear Parishioners,

This weekend we celebrate the second Sunday in Lent. The common theme of the readings of this week is metamorphosis or transformation. The readings invite us to work, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, to transform and renew our lives during Lent, so that we may radiate the glory and grace of the transfigured Lord, which we have just received, all around us by our Spirit-filled lives.
In this week’s Gospel we hear about the Transfiguration, this is the disciple’s glimpse of Jesus’ divine glory, His face shining like the sun. For a moment, they see clearly who He truly is, the Beloved Son of God. Peter wants to stay in that holy moment, but the Father’s voice gives a simple command: “Listen to him.”

When we experience God’s presence, in prayer, in peace, in clarity, we want to hold onto it. But the voice from the cloud gives a simple command: “Listen to him.” The focus is not on building shelters or preserving the moment, but on listening to Jesus.

When fear overwhelms them, Jesus gently says, “Do not be afraid.” The same Lord who shines in glory walks with them down the mountain. This reminds us that moments of grace are given not to escape life, but to strengthen us, so that, in all things, we listen to Him and trust without fear.

I encourage you to become involved in our Parish life and join us for the events that we have coming up. On Saturday 21st March we have our annual St Patrick’s Day dinner and Trivia night. We celebrate the Schola Mass on the First Sunday at OLGC at 6 pm once in three months. So, this Sunday at 6pm will be Schola Mass.

During this Lenten season, I encourage you to participate in the Stations of the Cross and to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please feel free to approach any of the priests as we are always happy to celebrate this Sacrament with you at any time.

Let us also keep in our prayers all of our children who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Please note the Parish Office will be opened on Tuesday to Friday until further notice. If you wish to join any of our parish ministries please contact to the Parish Office.

May God bless you,

Fr. Satheesh Antony OSH, PP
