from Fr Satheesh
Dear Parishioners,
Welcome to the 29th week in ordinary time. This week’s Gospel reminds us of the power of persistence in prayer and the importance of trusting in God’s justice. The widow’s perseverance shows us what it means to have unwavering faith, even when answers seem delayed. Jesus assures us that God hears the cries of those who call to Him day and night, and that He will act with compassion and justice in His time.
Like the widow, we too are called to keep coming before God with our needs, our hopes, and our struggles, even when we feel discouraged or unheard. Prayer is not about wearing God down, but about deepening our relationship with Him and allowing our hearts to be shaped by faith and patience. In a world where quick results often take priority, Jesus invites us to a deeper trust, a faith that endures through waiting and uncertainty.
The final question Jesus asks “When the Son of Man comes, will he find any faith on earth?” is both a challenge and a call to renewal. May we be people who never lose heart, who continue to believe, to hope, and to pray with confidence that God’s justice and mercy will always prevail.
World Mission Sunday is held every year on the second last Sunday of October. This year it will take place on 19 October with the theme of “Missionaries of Hope among the peoples.” "I urge every Catholic parish in the world to take part in World Mission Sunday," Pope Leo said, underscoring, "Your prayers, your support will help spread the Gospel, provide for pastoral and catechetical programs, help to build new churches, and care for the health and educational needs of our brothers and sisters in mission territories."
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our musicians who have worked so hard to put on this weekend’s concert. A special thank you to Daniel Younan for his dedication and leadership in coordinating the music ministry in our parish.
We are always looking for new musicians to join our music ministry! If you, or someone you know, would like to be involved in this vital and rewarding ministry, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact the parish office for more information.
In this Jubilee Year of Hope our parish is conducting an annual Retreat on Wednesday 29 to 31 Friday October, 2025 from 6 pm to 8.15 pm at St. Martin’s Church, Davidson. Please invite your families and friends to join the Retreat. Kindly make use of this opportunity for our spiritual growth at this busy time. More details are in the bulletin.
Fr. Boby will be away from the parish from 20 October to 20 November. He is taking his annual leave and we wish him a safe and a joyful holiday.
May God bless you all.
